19-year old Dmitriy Guzner has pleaded guilty to felony charges involving a series of January 2008 Distributed Denial of Service attacks on the official websites of the Church of Scientology.

Guzner is part of the Internet hacking group Anonymous, which targets groups and individuals just for the sake of fun. This is the first time a member of Anonymous has been convicted on computer hacking charges.

Anonymous started harassing the Church of Scientology last year, not only attacking their websites, but waging real life demonstrations and stunts on the religious group.

Other victims of Anonymous have notably included Florida Republican Nancy Detert and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

New Jersey native Guzner faces 10 years in prison and is set to be sentenced on Aug. 24 in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

The Walt Disney Studios will celebrate Earth Day 2009 (April 22nd) with the debut of Earth, the first feature-length nature documentary from its new production banner, Disneynature.

This breathtaking film is from award-winning British producer/director Alastair Fothergill, whose credits include the Emmy and Peabody award-winning “Planet Earth” series (BBC and The Discovery Channel) and The Blue Planet.

Earth, which is produced by BBC Worldwide and Greenlight Media, takes moviegoers on a tour of our home planet as it’s never been seen before.

Though there are other cases in history of Genocide, the Holocaust was characterized by its methodical, systematic, efficient, almost scientific murder of any person with Jewish roots. Assimilation or conversion offered no protection in this situation.

At the core of the Holocaust we find modern anti-Semitism, the current version of Jew Hatred – that same phenomenon which appeared throughout the centuries, perhaps finding its most blatant manifestation with the medieval Church. The modern German anti-Semitism was based on racial ideology which stated that the Jews were sub-human, while the Aryan race was ultimately superior. The Jew was systematically portrayed as a low-life, as untouchable rot and as the main cause of Germany’s problems.

It is important to note that the success of the Nazi machine could not have been so great were it not for the cooperation of the local populations of the conquered territories such as Poland, Ukraine, the Baltic states, and even western countries such as France. On the other hand, there were cases of governments and individuals who did their best at risk to their own lives to save the Jews. One such example was the organized evacuation from Denmark of the Jewish population to Sweden.

In 1951, the Knesset declared that the 27th day of Nissan is to be Holocaust Day, a day of commemoration of the Jews who perished and for those who showed resistance and heroism. In 1959, the Knesset passed the law of Holocaust Day. Every year, since 1989, the Knesset performs the ceremony of Everyone Has a Name in which the names of all of the holocaust victims are read out loud.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a highly controversial psychiatric disorder.

Being a subjective diagnosis for which there are no laboratory or radiological confirmatory tests or specific physical features, the rates of diagnosis and treatment substantially differ across countries, with opinions ranging from those who do not believe it exists at all to those who believe it has genetic and physiological bases.

According to a press release from the Church, there has been a misrepresentation of what Scientology doctrine is when it comes to illness or physical problems like epilepsy or seizures. The Church of Scientology has always had the firm policy of not diagnosing or treating the sick.

A Scientologist with a physical condition is always advised and supported to seek and obtain the needed examination and treatment of a qualified medical professional. Separately and once under medical treatment, a Scientologist then can address his illness or injury with Scientology counseling to handle any spiritual trauma or other factors connected with the physical condition which may have predisposed him to illness or injury. Scientologists use medical drugs and prescription medication when physically ill and also rely on the advice and treatment of medical doctors.

Scientologists do not take street drugs or mind altering psychiatric drugs of any kind. Scientologists believe that psychotropic or street drugs damage a person physically, mentally and spiritually. They decrease awareness and hinder abilities. They are a “solution” to some other problem only to become a bigger problem.
